First mountain I ever went down I applied my brakes to slowly. About half way down the smoke started to roll. It was an unbelievably bad feeling. I learned my lesson and it never happened since and I hope never will again.
Starting orientation/training next week CT Transportation

I do the stab method. The mistake I made is I didn't stab them hard enough.

Anything east of Colorado is really just a hill. You won't see a real mountain until you get to the Rockies. But Pittsburgh really sucks.
If all else fails, hills with over a 7% grade are required to have emergency runaway ramps. These are straight off the right or left side and are paved with deep sand and go uphill. That will stop you. You will need a tow truck to get out. -
You really have some brass balls starting out flat bedding. You would be better off going with Maverick. They have the best flatbed training. Those big coils are no joke. I have also seen a lot PVC pipe fall off too. Best of luck to you.

I applied with Maverick. I thought if the flatbed driving didn't work out, I can move to the reefer division with them. I haven't looked into CT. I'll be starting my 4th week of driving school next week. I got to drive us back to school from the Pilot on Thursday. I was driving like a grandma and my instructor kept reminding me that you can also get a ticket for going too slow, LOL. I didn't want to drive so slow, but I was dreading changing gears and then having to downshift again through the traffic!!
Perhaps automatic transmission trucks might not be a bad idea after all!

Well, the drive down to Savannah was pretty nice and it was a great day to take the vette out for a drive.
ALL checked into my room at COMFORT INN & SUITES. I went ahead and paid for my own room. I got the discounted rate that CT gets and got my own suite. It really is nice. Tomorrow begins at 0700 and it consists of a DOT Physical, FIT tests and a graded drive around. If I make it through all of this, I will be able to move on in Orientation to Wednesday. So far everyone has been super nice and my car ended up with all kinds of attention. lolAzcannon Thanks this.
