The 2% OOR is crap. During the morning rush out of Fontana adding 15 miles going through Tehachapi is far more economical time wise then sitting in traffic getting out of LA Metro...

Oh yes....nothing like a 2 hour trip being turned into a 4 hour trip....to save fuel. LMAO

They know it's faster and more economical for these little OOR trips we do. But, it fails on paper. So it's our fault, and our dime that gets taken.

There must be a college course entitled "Theoretical Trucking 101". It's a complete how-to for the trucking company desk jockey to make it work on paper but not in the real world, at least for any benefit to the driver.

I understand that no one has ever failed that class.....

Crete is kind of like this when it comes to fuel stops. They'll have you fuel 50 gallons somewhere to save three bucks. Abject silliness.

That's one area where SNI wins. They give you a list of stops along with the recommended ones for your trip (I think), and as long as you hit 70% you're free to focus on the other bonus criteria.

Yes....I think in 4 1/2 years at SNI, I did a partial fill-up maybe four times. At Crete, I do it probably once a week.

I'm going to tell you something one of these college desk jockeys told me to my face, with another company.

It does not matter the weight, weather conditions, or the grade. A diesel engine WILL maintain the same MPG. Your foot is what regulates the MPG.

The company "fuel economy policy" lost all concern for my part, after that conversation.

    48Packard Thanks this.

I think I may have had to reply, "Yes....and your posterior is what will determine the length of travel of my foot".
