I figured seeing as I am doing 1 mod at a time I may as well post the info as I do each mod, that way the info will be available for others in the future. And might help people to make a informed decision about, turbo blankets, exhaust wrap, high flow mufflers/Donaldson M100463. I will post new EGT,s once I have firm figures, now that the exhaust wrap is installed.

The turbo blanket also cuts down on the turbo noise and instead of the Donaldson muffler, check out the Walker Megaflow that is a straight thru muffler with a 4 year warranty against rust because it is galvanized dipped. Great muffler for around $125 each at most truck parts houses.

They come in T3 (small), T3/T4 (medium), and T6 (large) sizes. My BW 171702 is a T6 housing, so it took the large one. I would guess that the Holset turbos on the ISX would take a large one as well as single turbo 6NZ's and such. You would have to check with a supplier on the turbo you are using to see what category it fits into. PTP should be able to help you out with this as well. Something like the wastegate stock turbo on the Detroits would probably take the T3/T4 version.

the link to PTP turbo blankets. They should be able to provide one for you. Give them a call or send a note, tell them what you have, and they should be able to recommend one of their blankets to you. My guess is that it would be the T6 blanket just like I have on the Borg Warner turbo on my Detroit. Basically, turbo blankets come in a small, medium, or large size. they are usually not custom fitted to a specific turbo housing, since there is thousands of various models of turbos out there. You would pay quite a premium price to have one custom fitted. And there really is no need. Once you get one on, and run the metal ties thru it and tighten it down on the turbo, it will take up any size difference and it isn't going anywhere. You just need a blanket that is close to the size of your turbo housing.

Holy sheep dip, Batman! I agree with Lenny 100%!

Cut back fleet trucks won't make enough boost or flow enough fuel to need extra gauges.

A lot of the European trucks will dial back fuel and thus boost if the EGT gets to high.
It is not that they cant reach that point but have fail safe systems inbuilt.
