Because I am company right now and it's a really good company with brand new loaded Cascadia's (fridge, APU, XM), which has already been in the shop more than once, all of them have, saving up to buy a KW. That's why, I do have a family to feed, gotta work.
Why would you buy a kenworth over a freightliner?

A couple years ago I was driving an 05 Century and I liked it fine, especially all the room. My boss got me a brand new T660, granted comparing a 7 year old truck to a new one. But it was really shocking how quiet and smooth the KW was compared to the Century. I had even carpeted the Century and added insulation to the firewall and doors which had made it much quieter, but still louder than the KW. I felt like I could drive for 10 hours straight in the KW and not be as worn out as I was after 5 or 6 hours in the Century. But I'm sure some are better than others.
Of course, now I'm driving an International which is worse than both the Century and the KW. I've had it nearly a year and still finding things to shim to stop rattles. I'd like to switch the passenger seat over to the driver too, or get a new one. maybe tweak with the airbag's a bit.... try to help it all I can but not impressed with International for a long mileage cruiser. -
That is so true the International was the worst ride I was ever in! Of course I would also add thata large car in any make is going to be built better and have a nicer ride. I did love my Classic!

Kenworth keeps Chillicothians employed, Diamliner keeps Mexicans employed.

Practice what you preach then.
And stop knocking those of us who choose what we choose.
Rather conceited otherwise. -

there's stating your opinion, and then saying someone else's is wrong because it doesn't concur with yours.
I am happy that you and your wife are happy in a KW.
Right now, I wanted a truck that was inexpensive and kept my FIXED overhead (read that as a truck payment) to a minimum. I can't find that at the moment in a KW or a cat engine.
Past that, we all have are priorities for what's wanted. Enjoy them. I listen to a lot of opinions. The ones I blow off are those that make others feel inferior for having made a choice. -
If you feel inferior, that's a personal problem. I never said anyone was wrong, and there is nothing wrong with us feeling strongly about our passion.
I understand why some people feel the need to go cheap. I, on the other hand, do not have a mortgage or car payment. So, I can do what I like, and everything I have said has facts behind it. Whether you can afford it or not is a personal decision. You cannot fault me for mine either!
Also, if you want to chastize me, at least read the posts. I am not currently in a KW. Use to have one, and will get another. But if you are not even reading the posts, you're not getting what I am saying anyway. So I am done with this one. -
