i like the new rules lol, hasn't affected my pay

And as with a few petitons ive done online either nothing will come of it or we will get a generic BS propaganda answer. Something like
"we appreciate your concern over the new HOS regulations, but the FMCSA, NTSB, and (insert any other BS organizations here) feel that these new changes will save lives and make the roads safer for all of us and our families. "
Our government these days will not listen to the people muchless a bunch of renagade, braindead, drug addict truck drivers unless they see a way to line their pockets. But hey thats my 2cents. Ill sign it anyway just to see the answer.
(the above is not how I see myself or other drivers but how society seems to think of us)RickG, Charli Girl and fr8te_sh8ker Thank this. -
There are effective ways to change regulations. You sue or pay millions to politicians. Any other method is a waste of time.
-
Just because something works for "you" doesn't mean you shouldn't stand up against it. This is bad for the transportation industry which includes Truckers as a whole. We all need to stand up against these new and all existing regulations that have no bearing on safety or the better for us drivers...snowblind and fr8te_sh8ker Thank this.

I signed and gave my opinion although sad to say it won't do any good.Petitions like this one have been signed for other unfair laws, look how far that got us.FMCSA is going to do what they want and no petition will change that. The only humanly possible way things can be changed in our favor is if drivers go on strike and we all know that's not going to happen.I rather enjoyed giving my opinion and I hope FMCSA reads every word of it.
-
Of course I signed..And I have written my "elected" officials before this. 'Your a fool and it won't do any good' some of you will say? Perhaps. However..One must do what they feel is right-no matter how futile. This is how "change" occurs.
My sister told me she had my fav poster as a kid at her house...It was of a mouse on a knoll with a Big Eagle swooping down on it.The "mouse" knew it was ######...But still was giving the Eagle a BIG middle finger..This is the way I feel..
Even if futile at least it is SOMETHING..Versus just getting on this forum and complaining-which is NOTHING..............................volvodriver01 and snowblind Thank this. -
Even though im pessimetic I always have that hope. Can you list a few things in trucking that has changed in our favor?
-
Nope. But I will not be marched to a big dug hole to be shot and buried without doing anything. And I really would like for the "know it all's about everything" If you are truly so smart and know how the system works..Why oh why aren't you a millionaire and in office? Then we would be sending YOU petitions..Instead of YOU telling us how this is all a waste of time..
And really..If your all so smart instead of telling us how this won't work;tell us what will HAVE a chance of working.Except of course saying coming up with 50 million dollars-that answer is WAY to easy... -
I support the idea of a 30 minute break before 8 hours. Not easy to work it in sometimes, but a good idea. 34 hour idea, not so much in favor of it as it is written.
