i disabled that dang thang when I bought my truck,oh well
-
i'm pretty sure it's just the ecm programming, which can be done to any year truck that supports the setting.
i drove a 99 FL dump truck that also did that. but you could bypass by using the trailer park valve instead of the truck park valve. but if the trailer wasn't hooked up. that wasn't an option. -
Yup takes just a few minutes, but I hate that. I'd never have that on my truck,it's just annoying. I guess if things change,I'll,have change along with them, but "under protest" lmao

There will be a 3 day pass that has to be submitted 3 days in advance and can only be used by each Company once a year: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onrdiesel/documents/tb_12-1138_three_day_pass_form.pdf
I am glad I live on the eastern side of the USA as far a way from the land of fruits and nuts as possible. It will be interesting to see how the 2014 CA produce shipping season goes with a limited number of trucks getting a lot higher rates that will make the consumers all across the USA angry when produce prices soar and fresh produce is not so readily available at the grocery stores. -
LOL, Dice.... "a limited number of trucks".
No there are unlimited numbers of SWIFT,Knight, and Duncan & Sons trucks with brand new reefers just sitting in huge fields all over Phoenix, Fontana, and Bakersfield. Thousands of O/O's with old trucks will be standing in line at SWIFT to drive those trucks when they realize they cant run their 1995 Freightliner anymore.
How many of those California based Mexican truck drivers have $25,000 and good enough credit to buy a $150,000 truck? NONE.
Megas know all of this and are gearing up by stacking thousands of trucks and trailers around and building cross docks all over the west side of Phoenix.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 13, 2013

The California truck dealerships have the real list, I went in to Peterbuilt where I live and asked about the voucher (most call it the Grant) on my truck, 07 with 06 engine. CARB has sent the list of trucks to the dealerships. 04-06 engine years have until the end of 2014 before upgrade. CARB does not have vouchers yet for these engines. You will not find it on CARBs website, but my friend who works there showed me the letter and list from CARB. They want to keep scaring people into buying new.
Just like on CARB's website, 96-2000 were no good at the end of 2012, but yet everyone got their certificate from CARB until end of this year. You have to do some real digging, like E-Mails to CARB head officials to get real info. -
Are you sure of that? I thought that was going to be the case, but just heard differently a few days ago.
And I think the grant money is BS. I can't qualify because I'm leassed to a carrier in OR & plated there. You only get grant $$$$ if you're based in CA & the truck never leaves the state.
I think CARB is playing a big game of chicken here. If they did this all too quickly CA would have a truck shortage. By going two steps forward, one step back until they get enough compliance to drop the hammer on the guys that are left. -
Next these fruits will force ya to put a bra on your truck!
