Yep, Superior takes recent grads depending on what school you went to and where you are located. We have a terminal in Pedricktown New Jersey so that might work out for you. Give them a call and talk to them. 1-800-367-7727. Ask for Scott.

shoudln't rookies learn to drive a truck first. before trying to drive a tank.

if you haven't learned how to drive the truck yet. how do you propose to drive a load that jerks you back and forth. and no clue as to the dangers.

Not necessarily. I was a rookie and went straight into pulling tankers. It's not like your getting thrown behind the wheel and told good luck. Superior Carriers has a very extensive training program that teaches you how to haul liquids. I have been doing it over a year now with no issues. I have great respect for 45,000 pounds of moving liquid. You can't drive a tanker like a sports car. Yes you have to be careful but it is not rocket science.

I would give this piece of advice to any new driver considering pulling tanks. If at any time during training you feel tankers is not for you, there is no shame in speaking up and saying you don't feel comfortable hauling liquids. It is different for sure and it is better to realize and accept that than to pretend to your trainer and everyone else you are alright then wind up rolling one over. There are times the surge makes my arse pucker for sure. Every load is different. Some worse than others.
