Get it reflashed first and then try it. You probably won't spend the money for the hard parts after that. I have a blown up 550 up 2ws with all the the parts to convert my mbn but wouldn't spend the time or money to do it.

I have an 04 pete that had a bxs acert in it. The cam and rockers went bad in it twice in about 2 years. We just pulled it out and a 6nz is going in it this week.
Found a 6nz that had a partial rebuild for little more then it would have cost to do the cam and rockers. It was turned up to 550 and tuned with the rebuild so ill see how it does compared to the acert -
I had to replace the inlet and exhaust arm on 3rd cylinder. took to cleveland brothers for further adjustments.

the 6nz will have a shorter stroke than the bxs. but with the right combination of parts will do well. I wouldn't loose the bxs engine if you still have it.

What do you mean shorter stroke on 6NZ....shorter crankshaft throw? Are you saying the BXS is larger displacement than 6NZ?

Yes the 6NZ/3406E is 14.6L
ACERT C15 is 15.2L

Well holy mackeral I didn't know that. Thought the Acert was the same as the non Acert except for the VVA garbage.

a-cert's have same stroke as the c-16's. just different rod bearing journals. the acert has a stronger bottom end. plus you have one pc steel pistons compared to a 6nz and c-16 that have a alum skirt piston.nwharry Thanks this.

The thing about pre-acert vs acert is the power and mpg. Twin turbo doesn't mean you will have more power than 6nz. It's just two small turbos competing a big turbo that fits on 6nz.
