Dallas, I can tell you this. TMC sent you home because they didn't like something about you, most likely something that battleborn pointed out. They don't send anyone home for no reason. You have to have done something, they probably told you what, you didn't like it, because they told you, that you screwed up. Today is my last day of training, I go back out Monday to test out. If they wanted me gone, they could've done so at my physical. So don't even try to make it out to be TMCs fault. Man up and take responsibility. You ###### up

    Actually; at .34 cpm. X 33 miles per day = $11.22 per day X 5 days a week = $56.10 a week X 50 weeks a year = $2,805 per year

You gonna turn down an extra $2,805 per year? That is $233.75 a month...that will pay a cell bill AND cable/internet bill in my area. Pretty good deal you ask me.

People get in too big a hurry to make a point, and don't think things far enough through mathematically. That extra 33 miles per day just paid 2 monthly bills for the entire year.

Smoke and mirrors... this math is always figured at the top end of every scale.. if you are trying to convince anyone that everyone goes on and runs the max mileage every day of the year.. that's just not even remotely fair to new people. I have seen far too many drivers who figure they will get into the business based on this math magic.. and its why within a couple of months.. they leave the industry.. its a lie.

That's why I love percentage...I don't have to run 2500+ miles a week to make good money. Work smarter, not harder...Well...Is anything really that difficult in the van world?

Fozzy... all due respect. .. you do have many more years experience than I... however, I do not completely agree with your statement. .. often times, drivers are not getting miles for reasons otner than the company doesnt have them... and more often than not it is because of their own doings....

I average 2500 to 2700 miles a week... but, I dont dilly dally out there, I pick up and deliver on time, and I do my pre trips.. which means I have not had the road breakdowns so e drivers have, I schedule my truck to go in the shop when I am on home time...

And drivers leave within a couple months because it isnt for them...

It's NOT smoke and mirrors Fozzy...this is why I used .34cpm (an average towards the low end), and a 5 day week (an average period), and a 50 week year (an average period). Do your own freaking math based on what YOU experience...or let people see mathematical numbers (based on averages) and see what THEY think.
And regardless of how you look at it---mathematically, 33 extra miles a day (no matter what your pay is, no matter how many days a week you work, no matter how many weeks a year you work) IS gonna pay more (if you are paid by the mile) than 33 less miles a day.

I'm going to say this base off fact and some opinion of mine first op if you with swift and you receive excellent miles than that is great but by far tmc hands down is a better paying and employee friendly company. I do no work for tmc but I am bias due to my brother being there for 10 years. I seen first hand how tmc change his life. Tmc is an employee owned company and . 34 cpm is off base for them, maybe swift but like I said if swift is providing you with the income you need than congrats

Got to love these drivers who think they'll make more if their truck is faster.Your routed miles are what they are,and thats what you're payed for.All a faster truck means, is you get to consignee a few minutes earlier.
