Rest area etiquette and what would you do?

I would have smeared rancid peanut butter on thier windows and door handles and maybe thier tires. Then I would have placed a bottle filled with yellow juice and left it neatly on the step. Yeah, that's what I would've done!

 

Yep. As long as they are courteous enough to leave space to get through then I don't mind they have to be creative while parking. We have all had to do it before and if you haven't well....you will.

But also keep in mind if you aren't in a "legal" spot and you get hit some companies will deem that as a preventable.

 

And that's where you need to be careful Grasshopper because, the last part of the verse you quoted is "for with the same measure that you judge, you will be judged"

What's your take on a driver peeing on the ground at the fuel island?

 

As long as your not looking, I say go for it.

 

Trainers SHOULD strictly adhere to the regulations and to company policy while training new students. Their job is to teach the RIGHT way to do things, and try to start the new driver off on the proper path to a successful career. Proper trip planning, etc. are all important things for you to learn, and stressing the importance of doing them to keep you safe once you are out on the road is his primary job.

That being said, excrement happens. Best laid plans get tossed out the window when Murphy has his say, and sometimes you've just got to do what you've got to do in the safest manner possible.

The BEST thing to do, and this is not merely related to trucking but rather to life in general, is that if somebody else is doing something and it doesn't adversely affect your ability to stay safe, then don't allow yourself to be bothered by what they are doing. If you don't like it, don't do it. If somebody else does it, as long as it isn't placing you in danger, it shouldn't concern you.

 

you have to be a little off to even compare peeing at the fuel island and parking in the rest area , some of you folks are just nuts.

I think your Schneider trainer failed to teach you one thing, mind your own business. if you had no problem getting in or out, where was the problem??
