Could be everyone is doing it at the same time. RM servers couldn't handle a few hundred (if that) drivers opening an email and checking out a link.

Hubby used the TND-720 on Monday for the first time since the map update, and he says it is still trying to take him on roads he shouldn't be on. Not just the same roads as the old maps did, but also some additional ones while going to/coming from the same place. It's no big deal here, because he knows where he is going, but if he didn't.....
Specifically, in Gadsden, Alabama (or Rainbow City, depending on whom you talk to), when Hubby is going to Southern Cold Storage, 2283 Steele Station Road, he takes I-59 to exit 181, turns right onto AL-77, turns right onto Airport Road, and crosses Steele Station Road into the driveway of his destination. When he turns onto Airport Road, the TND tries to take him up every side street back over to AL-77 and then return down Steele Station Road to his destination. This happened with the old maps and is still happening with the new maps. I don't know one way or the other if those roads are specifically off-limits for trucks, but they would at least add unnecessary mileage. It's like the TND doesn't want him to be on Airport Road and tries everything it can come up with to get him back onto AL-77. But Airport Road was made a four-lane approximately the same time as SCS was built, to make it easier for trucks to get in from the interstate and back out again (there probably are other reasons too). Then as Hubby comes back out again toward home, the TND wants him to turn left onto Steele Station Road, left again onto Pleasant Valley Road, and left again onto Rainbow Drive. I don't know about Pleasant Valley Road or Rainbow Drive, but there is a sign on Steele Station Road going in that direction that says "NO THRU TRUCKS", unless that has changed since the last time I was over there a few months ago.
There is a road in Tennessee that has been open for a little over a year that I checked for first thing after the map update, and the TND still doesn't have it as far as I can tell. Hubby hasn't gone through there yet though, so I will save that one for when he does. I guess it wasn't finished in time to make it to the new maps. Maybe next time.....
On a positive note, Hubby says he likes the split screen with the route on one side and the upcoming turn on the other. The jury is still out on the "doorbell" that he hears now at every turn. If there is a way to turn that off, it might be helpful. He hasn't had time to check all the settings to see if some of them changed with the map update, so that could have something to do with the changes he's noticed. I haven't had a chance to look at the TND much at all since the update, or I would have at least looked at his settings to see if I saw anything amiss. I'm sure there's more he hasn't encountered yet, so I'll be sure to stay tuned. :smt023double yellow Thanks this. -
PM me the address of the start/stop of the trip in AL and I will try to duplicate. He might also change his trailer to 48'96" and see if it routes correctly. It might be an Non-STAA road.
The "door bell" or chime is controlled by preferences/route/turn announcements/bottom right - Chime Tone On.
It was put there to add a simple reminder that a turn is coming up without adding a voice to it.

I found the "no thru trucks" sign on the speed limit sign that is about 3 ft off the ground and tilted at about 45 degrees... Think they would have put the sign higher so someone in the cab can see it.
Thanks,

He still hasn't decided if he likes the chime or not. I'll tell him about it and if he decides that he doesn't like it, at least he will know how to turn it off.
