Really? Police officer told me the same that it does not affect my history. I do t mind $1000 i will consider it as extra charge for going to low class CdL school

I blame myself but also company i work for. I am guy without prior driving experience, giving me truck to go from NY to SF and not explaining log book tips properly is not good for company itself.

I don't think it will be a problem with your driving record, but its 7 points X 3 for a total of 21 points on your CSA score if there was an inspection done. Be careful about this.

I dis some google search and looks like it is problematic for company i work for rather than for driver.

Your cdl school should have told you about the 7 day requirement for logging your time off before your first day of paid driving. The officer was being nice to by not giving you a Ticket that would have cost you another $175.

You need to be able to correctly log your driving time and your off duty time, or you will get a large fine every time you are stopped.

It is problematic for the drivers that your company hires. In other words, the problems are with the drivers, unless you found equipment problems.

Since we're on logbooks already, what qualifies as a restart? Any period of 36 hours off duty?

I'm in the same boat: no experience and no idea.

Sorry, the company is not responsible to teach you how to fill out a log book. You can pick that up with a little reading on your own. As for the school not training you, it is not required to get your license so why would they teach that as part of the course.

Part of the blame is NOT on the company, it is all on you for this one. Besides, what you got dinged for you already knew about and you even admitted it. You knew what had to be done but let yourself get rushed.

    MJ1657 and A21CAV Thank this.

Go to court an the judge might give you a break if you explain it to him. 1000 dollars seems high to me. I go to court on that one.
