That's because there is nowhere to mark anything for skirts. Had a chat with regulatory about that and other write ups that can't be wrote up. So basically they force the drivers to falsify the DVIR. They don't care. So this is why 99% of the DVIR's says NO DEFECT. All they have to do is put a freeform box on the DVIR so we can write up what is wrong with the trailer not just OOS items.

Frame/body. Then the screen pops up for area, roadside curbside whatever and then it opens up a free form box on the final page for the driver to put in their own words what the issue is.

I'm no expert but I would say yes. That still doesn't mean the recorded DVR that the next driver gets won't show no defects but you still did right according to what you have to do.

The DVIR does absolutely nothing to alert maintenance to a problem. The only way trailers get repaired is if you call it in or send macro 12.
I'he been told the dvir no.longer automatically flags trailers OOS because of too many defects that weren't OOS or weren't actually defects requiring roadside (ie burnt out light a driver can change).FatDaddy Thanks this. -
Yeah. I am aware of that which is silly in my opinion but whatever. I do alert maintainence through macro 12 as well
