I love that being local. No answer in 15 minutes... I'm going home. If I'm working. Dispatch should be working.

I don't know why but that reminded me of a mechanic I once knew. He loved surabrus so much he got a big tattoo on his arm of their logo... Only problem was that he never owned one! I still chuckle about that.

So I'm guessing Zoomy is AWOL? Sigh. Darned shame, I always enjoyed his posts and his humor.

Think I saw him this AM parked at a rest area on I-10 headed into AZ. Was a KW with a reefer.

Maybe Phred ate him and ran away with The Hot Chick?

Company policy at Celadon is to not exceed 12k on the steers. It is also the law, so I don't see why you made this comment.

Zoom I have silently been following your adventures since you started this thread, as I'm sure others have too. I check in from time to time to see what you guys are up to, and enjoy the read. You've had a few days to cool off, so grow a pair and come on back...we miss your humor.

It's not the law in all states. States that don't specifically post a steer axle weight limit default to the 20,000 single axle limit.

Even those that do often limit the steer axle to whatever the tire limit is. Missouri for example. If you have 16 ply tires, you can legally load 13,000 on your steer axle.

The Motor Carrier Road Atlas lists all those limits. Perhaps you should read the front section of that so you'd know.

Celadon's rule is asinine and typical of mega carriers who consider the driver irrelevant.

Check the CA DOT website http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/trucks/trucksize/weight.htm
    Steers at 20k
Even if you have tires rated for only 12k like mine at Prime, they wont even bother you for being over
My 5th wheel is fixed, so i am always running half tanks weighing 12300 +
CA does not allow APU exemption i will roll even up to 12500 and burn some fuel off before i hit a scale
