Pepsi in ATL kinda sucks when you don't know where the truck entrance is.
Heading back to MI today with a kelloggs load. Nice and light.popcorn169 Thanks this. -
Kelloggs took all day to load me . I left at. 9pm , had to stop on top of the mountain at the rest area on 24 in TN to sleep, at least I'm uphill, so I stay in the bunk.
Should get to Grand Rapids today. -
Hope you don't get any fog, last time I was through there, it was kissing a dry van's taillights cause you could barely see over the hood...and it was daytime !!!!
Good luck, that's beautiful scenery...on either side...Wickedfire77 Thanks this. -
I'll deliver at. 7am in GR, grab my new registration for this year and see what lies ahead . No more snow, I'll go anywhere now! Lol

Stopped south of Indy on my way down to Alabama. Already planned on a load back to Michigan. I might take Sunday off and hang with my dad. He just told me he is retiring the end of April. Finally! I thought he'd work til he died.
88 Alpha and popcorn169 Thank this. -
Enjoy time with your dad. I lost my dad when I was a kid to him doing a bunch of illegal things that ended up getting him murdered. No excuses for what he did but enjoy your time.
88 Alpha and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
My dad retired a little over a year ago. Like you, Wicked, I thought he would work (drive) until he died. The kinda cool thing is we drove for the same company for his last 8 years on the road. As OTR drivers, we hardly ever saw each other, but we sure talked a lot on the phone. Usually it was me asking him about a customer.
Made fun of him a little bit. You could ask him where a customer was and he might have been there ONCE, 5 years ago, but he could not only tell you how to get there, he would tell you which way in the parking lot to turn and what door to check in. I began calling him "Rainman" after Dustin Hoffman's character, the autistic child in the movie "Rainman". That child had a knack for remembering the smallest of details.
Not long ago, I spoke to his former dispatcher. She asked about him and had nothing but good things to say and those thoughts have been echoed by several people in the office. Up until that point, I never realized he was so highly thought of.
The point of it all is what Popcorn said: enjoy your time with your dad and don't just take it for granted.popcorn169 and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
Arrived early to Athens Alabama for my load back to mi . Too early it appears. Schedule said ready at 8pm, they say midnight.
I say early to bed and leave predawn. -
Hurray for me. When they realized I was waiting, they put 3 people on it and was done within 2 hours. So I'm already parked in TN on my way back.
