What's the rolling resistance on them hankook

 

How heavy do you run? Do you go off road a lot? How anal are you at maintaining air pressure?
I'm pretty obsessive at maintaining air pressure. I check and air up if needed every morning during my pretrip. I also use the free TireCheck pass from Loves each time I get one.

How often do you do an alignment? I have a 3 angle alignment done each June,.. and/or when I replace steers. And front end alignment each December when I come home for the holiday break.

Another thing,.. how fast do you run? If your running 70 - 75 a lot,.. tires get hot. Will wear out quicker. When loaded I'm the slow guy doing 65 in the right lane.

I run 110 PSI in my steers, 100 PSI in my drives. 110 PSI on my spread.

I have no idea. I dont buy into all that rolling resistance. I look for a tire that lasts and wont break my wallet. I'm still experimenting with drive tires. The Hankook DL07 were the best I've had on so far. Not sure if they Make the DL07 anymore. I heard someone else on here say they had good results with the DL11. I want to try them. They are not a very expensive tire when compared to Michelin, Goodyear or Bridgstone drive tires.

Steers I'm locked in with the Michelin XZA3+,.. I hope they never stop making them.

I went through a lot of trial and error with trailer tires. Right now I am pretty locked in with BFGoodrich ST230's for my spread. I got 145k mi out of the first set that I replaced,.. where with the Yoko and Firestone I was doing good to see 100k. Plus they both would start pitting wth chucks of tread coming off after about 50k mi. Aeolus and Double coin were a joke,.. not even 50k mi before they came off.

Cat , I use the m710 Bridgestone. ,, rolling resistance off 99 compared to 148 of the 726. , not as long of life. As 726 but the savings pays for another set of tires, so

What I'm looking for is the least expensive tire that gives me the most life and quality during that life.

If a $350 steer tire only lasts me 60 - 80 and the last 20k of its life was a miserable shaking before I finally had enough,.. I'd say its more prudent to spend more money on a tire that will give me almost 3 times the life and never experience abnormal wear patterns,.. at least not due to any fault of the tire.

Thats where I'm coming from.

As for drives,.. If I can find a $350 - $400 tire that gives me the same quality as a $500 - $600 tire,.. where do I benefit from buying the more expensive tire? Thats what I am experimenting with right now.

I'm a you get what you pay for kind of guy. I will pay more for a better quality product or service if I can see where it benefits me to pay more.

I'm not arguing the validity of which tires are better or worse. Only giving my observations based on my experience.

, Thats the point . you do get what you pay for. What may look like a lower price may cost you far more long run with more fuel usage. ?,

The only thing that I noticed that helped with MPG (Regarding tires) was when I raised the air pressure on my steers and trailer and started getting anal about maintaining air pressure.

I've finally got this truck doing steady 6 mpg loaded. Not many CATs out there seeing 6 - 6.5 mpg. At this point,.. If I could see a negligent difference in mpg by paying more for a lower rolling resistance tire I would jump on that. I just dont see this truck ever doing any better fuel mileage that its getting right now.

The DL07 will out last the DL11. I have run the two on trucks doing the same thing and was disappointed with the DL11. My understanding is that it's designed for lower rolling resistance and doesn't give the tread life. The DL07 is still available and so far I've only seen good things from them. A lot of value for the money.
