I ran an older model T600 during my second run with Werner. I loved that beat up old POS!

Granted, I was on the General Mills dedicated account, strictly drop and hook operation in large lots, but I have to say that truck is second on my list of flat out favorite trucks I've operated. First place goes to the late 90's Peterbilt extended hood with the Cat 475 and 13 speed Eaton Fuller.

The T600 had a nicely set up cab, aerodyne sleeper with a good amount of storage (most of which I didn't get much use out of since I don't carry a lot of crap), strong engine (another decent sized kitty), straight ten speed (meh), and a smooth suspension (not as good as the Pete, but better than the 13 letter fertilizer spreader 9400isx I just got out of).

I will say that the Pete, despite being the bigger truck, had a better turning radius. Steering stops had been removed on the Pete, she would turn on a dime and hand you a nickel in change.

Today, I spend a fair amount of time drooling over the newer T680 KWs. If I had all the monies, I'd probably buy one of those. I just think they are nice looking trucks.

The 700 had Paccar, don't know what horse, but pull, and giddy up was no problem.

I was in a 680, they're nice too, but that anteater is what I will drive in hell for eternal punishment if that's where The Lord sends me.

If you don't mind my asking, what was it you didn't like about the T600?

Since I discussed the positives I saw in the series, perhaps you could discuss the negatives so the OP can see both sides and have a bit more info to make his decision. Plus, admittedly, I'm curious.

Only truck I ever drove that wouldn't pull a big hill, had to stop, high oil temp, let it cool off.
Turning radius is about that of a WWII aircraft carrier.
The inside of the cab is tiny with no room to put anything for driver convenience.

Huh! Never had a problem with mine pulling grades. What was the spec on yours?

Yeah, the cab was a bit tight. But as I stated, I don't varry a lot of stuff. Different strokes, amiright?

What does the truck model have to do with how the drive train performs? Absolutely nothing.

Well the drive train doesn't effect the shoebox cab, nor the turning radius.
It did have a nice button down interior, was leather or naugga hide, but I think the naugga's are all hunted out.

Every kitty I throttle jockeyed in had plenty of gumption to pull the grades. Your carrier must've neutered the motor, and screwed it up in the process. That, or there were issues with the engine. You wouldn't know if it was one of those problematic ACERT engines, would ya?
