Hello, I am going to Werner orientation next Friday and not sure what to expect when I am there. Any suggestions on what I do with my time while I am waiting? I got the list for stuff I would need to bring with me.

My info on Werner is a decade old, but I trained out of the Dallas location after CDL school.
Orientation was pretty standard, normally ran from 0745-1630. I would just recommend bringing a good set of headphones and a couple books for entertainment.

You will need to bring applications to fill out. And books on how to write a better resume. And so scooby snacks.

Where will you be doing your orientation?
Try to keep this thread going detailing your experience with Werner. All companies change and I have known drivers who enjoyed working at Werner.

Don't listen to the crap you're gonna hear from everyone. The first thing you should bring when working for a mega is thick skin.

I know you've been on here for a long time trying to get started and every single one of us has worked for less than perfect company at some point in our careers. Go in with an open mind, learn all that you can, and keep your cool. The first few months will be a total shock to your system but I promise you it's the easiest job in the world once you get it down pat.

Congratulations man. Time in the A seat counts no matter what color the truck is.

You can expect them to demand a hair test then they will assign you a truck with a driver facing camera. Then you can be assured you'll be explaining any "oops" incidents that may or may not happen to any future employer for the next 7 years when they trash your DAC report. Sound fun yet?
