I don't know but all I can tell you is they keep me busy. I know almost a week ahead time what I am doing the following week all the time. No sitting around wondering what they have for me. That is nice to say the least.

Well I have been at Groendyke for a little over 3 months now. Although they are keeping me busy I will have to say the money is not all that great and the health insurance really takes a bite out of your check. Not sure how much longer I will stay. Was hoping this company would work out but it is not looking favorable.

Do you expect to come back to Superior?

I don't think they would hire me back a second time. I already used up my one rehire back in 2015. They would be a good option if I could. I was making more money there for sure.

I talked to a couple guys at Carpenter Liquid Transport and they talked like they were making real good money. Even talked to the owner. The exact words out of his mouth were "I pay my guys well because I don't need all that money to live on. I like to share the wealth". He drove for a long time before starting his company. Seemed like a real down to earth guy. So I am thinking about maybe going to work for Carpenter. If that does not work then I will probably just walk away from trucking altogether. Go back to being a normal citizen.

Do you spread sheet your pay weekly? These 3 months are historically the slowest for tank loads. My first quarter has always been my worst at Superior for the past 10 years. Dec, Jan and Feb are probably the worst 3 months of the year. I am afraid you might see the same trend with any tank company.

My wife keeps a spreadsheet of my pay. It is definitely not as good as it was at Superior. I am averaging $1150 gross per week at Groendyke. My average gross per week at Superior was $1200-1300. Doe's not seem like much of a difference but it adds up and the cost of insurance at Groendyke is almost double that of Superior.

We are not slow. I just keep getting a lot of short runs that I end up sitting for 18-20 hours before I can deliver. Groendyke does not pay you anything until you have been sitting at least 24 hours.

That is a reason not to go with Groendyke. They are putting their poor dispatching and wait time on the driver. If they had to pay after an hour, they would be more proactive at the dispatching.
