Yeah, and 50% better mileage? I guess that means a 579 should be getting 10.5, at least!

    Oxbow and spyder7723 Thank this.

and where this industry is headed... you guys wont survive much longer at 5mpg... watch diesel reach 6.00 within 1.5-2 years... mark it!

Run your business how you all see fit.. I will penny pinch until the cows come home and prepare for where this industry is headed... only the megas and very smart OO will survive... we will see who remains in business for longer... with more profit... for less work... I got nothing but time

So you don't have your license and you know that 379s and W900L aren't getting 7 mpg?

Trip odometer 1417, fill up 200.00 gallons. But hey, you know better!

I have more then enough resources active in the trucking industry to know what most all trucks are getting... in combinations of brokers, mechanics, and drivers... what can I say I have a family deep in this industry.

379s will not average yearly 7mpg... nope. hasn't been seen by anyone I know and trust... including myself... I drove a 379 for almost 100k miles... and it was lucky to get over 6... loaded heavy flatbed.. talking in the 5s

All Detroits I've ever driven pull better at high RPMs. Even this DD15 that Freightliner claims is supposed to pull down to 1200 RPMs or whatever it is. Ur pulls just like the old 12.7s, keep it over 1500 & it will go right up a hill. Let it do before that & it will keep dropping.

I think that you should drive first, and then tell people who own trucks what kind of mileage they are getting.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.
