I just ran my 70 compleatly dry before my recap kicked in. Therfore a 34 is needed corect? Or does recap still apply?
I'm good at running recap and have never had this question pop up for me.
Can't find a straight answer in my green book

are you on elogs? if you are, it'll tell you when you're able to drive again,
Redtwin Thanks this. -
I am on elogs and it added hours to my 70 at midnight. I'm fighting for a 34 and compleatly exhausted my 70. I was under the asumption if you ran your 70 out you had to take a 34?
I'm not looking for a reason to run. I'm looking for a reason to stop. I need a day off. I'm wiped out -
I got ya, if you have time on your load to do a reset, then do it.
If you just emptied out and want a day off, tell them you'll be ready for a load Wednesday, maybe they'll give you a day off,
I've held off sending the empty call until after my reset is over, it keeps me off the board.
Plus we all need days off out here, -
So the recap still applies then?
They already have me on an americold load to nc. I've told them when I was in California Thursday that I needed a 34 in atlanta. Then I told him that again today. Then again as well today. Then a load popped up.... and I don't trust them to let me reset in the yard in nc. Last time I tried to do a 34 there I wound up in cleavland.... -
tell them your whooped and need to reset, when they tell you that you have hrs after midnite tell them you thought it was about driving safe and alert not whether you had hrs or not, then remind them that running legal and running safe have nothing to do with each other,Boattlebot Thanks this.

I've been trying that. I might have to make a call to saftey on this one... just how I wanted to spend my 34. Fighting for my 34...G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Tell your dispatcher otherwise he or she is going to keep running you on recap hrs. Also in the future you need to tell your dispatch when your almost out of hrs before you run out prefereably while youre under a load so dispatch doesn't have a preload waiting for you.G13Tomcat and Boattlebot Thank this.

If they wont work with you then just run your hrs out logging unloading and loading time, 2 can play these elog games
fargonaz, Rusty Trawler and Boattlebot Thank this. -
Strictly speaking, if you run out of 70, you can not drive until after midnight, if you gain hours from the 8th day prior. You are not required to take a 34 hour reset. If, however, you feel you need a day off, taking one is more critical than being in compliance with the HOS.G13Tomcat, fargonaz and Boattlebot Thank this.
