There's always a need for new drivers in the industry just hope you can master all the tasks and past all your tests. And then your real trial will begin once you actually go out on the highway.

True.... SO true. The driver shortage isn't really that.... it's getting QUALIFIED and COGNIZANT individuals into the industry. Passing all the pre-stuff is hard enough (I had to re-do all mine in '03 because the grandfather deal ran out...) and leme tell ya . . . if I weren't already familiar with diesel engines, that "pre-trip" would've lost me from hello. It did, many.
Like Aussie stated, pass the "paper" and the "pretend" stuff, and then the REAL trials begin. Boy, is he right, on that one.
A friend of mine hit a flying turkey on Easter... the 3rd of the pack, he said. When he wanted to go home/have turkey for Easter, I don't think he meant this:

Good luck to you. I'm pulling the trigger with Roadmaster this summer so it's a one month in and out to whatever company I choose. VA is paying for it, so that's a bonus.

I've got six kidos too, but 2 were loaners and are grown. My first son is also grown and gone, so just 3 left in the house. Still got my second wife.

I'm looking at Schneider Bulk for the training and experience, but there are other places out there too. I've already seen the world so that's not a consideration for me. Besides, watching it pass by while chasing miles isn't exactly touring the nation.

Retired from the military after 21 years, spent some time in Real Estate, then did some property management before discovering I actually don's like working in the industry. Took the last year off and spent it with the 3 kidos, but being home has made me fat and lazy, as well as stir crazy.

6 children, that is a fairly good size family.

Good luck to you! God bless you and your family!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
