Sounds like they are practicing you up a bit, man! That's cool. They are moving the tandems on ya, to give you the 'feel' of the different sway?

Haven't started moving the tandems yet. We're still crawling right now. Instructor did show me how get move the trailer over when I got a bit to close to the cones on one of my backs.

Better that way....baby steps now, before you're on your own! Keep posting, I'm following, as are others. I work the vamp shift, and leave for work in a few... as the 'normal' people sleep, LoL. Any questions, bounce 'em here!
Get some rest, and be a sponge... 'not Bob..lol' ~!!! :)

Another fun night in the yard.

Instructor started off showing us how to offset back, then we split up again. 2 working pretrips and the other 2 in their own trucking working on straightline and then right and left offset. I am proud to say I nailed the offsets the first time. Definitely getting much more confortable with the way the trailers moves and how the pivot points work. Had to use a pullup or two but overall I am pleased with tonight's performance. Instructor gave me glowing praise for how quickly I am picking up the backing manuevers and taught me a couple "tricks" tonight.

As far as pretrips go, I completed 2 without the cheatsheets, missing 2 the first time and 1 the second both in under 20 mins. Glad that I finally have that down so I can get more time in the truck while the others work there way through learning the pretrip.

I had an inkling that I would enjoy being up in a truck but I never thought I would pick things up as fast as I am and enjoy it as much as I am. Can't wait to get the permit test over with tomorrow and get out on the road learning shifting.

Thanks. Feeling pretty good tonight but I know I can't get overconfident. Next night in the yard could be a completely different story. Lol

Take it all in, don't be afraid to ask questions.

I remember my first year like it was yesterday.

Seriously, as do I. Best wishes, @Ben Wah 79 True words.^^^

The dumbest question is the one you didn't ask, and a year down the line, wished you had.
