Is that a replica of Kazynski 's shack in the background?

Lol well no. If you are looking at the bigger one to left in the background that was supposed to be a shop for the truck which didn't materialize fully. We moved down the road about 15 mins. The small barn directly behind was for the lawnmowers, tools, etc until I built the big barn. Behind the little barn was my chicken coop

I like the old cabovers. I know of an 80 model Transtar 2 I can get for 1500. It's even got my favorite combo...400 BC with a 13 OD. My wife gave me a choice of either working another old truck or picking up a classic car and having a barn built for said car project. I've always wanted a 72 Chevy short bed...I've found a running candidate here locally... original paint

I have a 80 model Transtar II myself, Big Cam 13 spd. Thinking of sprucing it up and using as a backup truck.

Take them bolts around the petcock and there is a thick rubber gasket there. Sort of a square O-ring if that makes sense. Do what you want it's yours but if it was mine.... I'd pull it off and just put a new oil cooler in it and be done with all of it.
Petcock actually screws into the oil cooler itself.

Thanks a ton brother for the pics and explanation, really appreciate that. Can you tell me where you got the new oil cooler? I haven't tried finding one or parts for one just yet but my first place would be my parts guy at International.

    OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

Well.... seeing how I may be pulling it out of the mothballs and putting it to work, you may get to see many pics lol. Still torn between it and the 4200 Transtar, the 4200 would have the big 66" standup sleeper so that's a plus!

    SheepDog and slickWillie1980 Thank this.

Your welcome. Got mine from Central City truck parts in Huntington, WV. Cummins or about any dealer should be able to get them.
