Wtf, is the disconnect between sales and dispatch?

On company side, I got gone very fast because I was getting ####ed. I went lease, this is my 3rd week as lease. My 1st week I cleared $2,6k (no truck payment but also only drove 5 days) 2nd week I cleared $2k. This week even with the ######## I should clear around $1,7k-1,8k.

It would of been over $2k, but losing the $650 load cut into my profits obviously. That load would have covered my fuel costs for the week.

My 1st few weeks of lease have been pretty good money, but Ive also ran hard for that money. With that said, I think it would be hard to walk away as a new driver and make the same money (assuming it keeps up).

My only real complaint now that Im out on my own has been these screw ups from sales. While yes its very frustrating it's not enough to make me quit as I can see the ability to make money is here, but they need to sort out the sales dept issues..

2k a week? I don't think that's good at all, though I don't know fleece numbers. I'd say at least target 3k-4k. Who pays for repairs? I'd imagine a decent wage, after the truck gets paid, would be 100k for the headaches and extra tax burden. That's just personal preference though.

$2k profit in my pocket after expenses, granted its not including taxes but thats a variable.. The truck did over $4k each week. Truck is brand new and under warranty for the term of the lease.

$2k a week is $100k assuming I can keep that as a average. Way too early to know if thats possible, but lets be real here. I'm 2 months on my own as a cdl holder. Not really realistic to expect to make $100 my 1st year.

It happens, and for various reasons. It happening to you so frequently is bad luck, bad area at a bad time.

It happens most often when they pickup a brokered load and someone else, an outside carrier, jumps in and hauls it cheaper before you can pick it up. Sometimes it is a communication issue. Sometimes someone made a mistake.

It comes and goes but not enough to be a regular thing.

Yeah, I could see the outside carrier, thing being an issue.

As for my current load, Im still sitting here now with no time to get out of Chicago so I guess my current 5:36 mins at this shipper will be a reset...

The kicker is they are saying with out the 2nd PO, which they havent been able to sort out there isnt enough pay for the load.. Now they are talking about getting this load off my truck... So now I maybe losing this load too..

    Seriously, wtf..

Yeah, they are looking/waiting for something else. They will let you know at the last minute.o_O
Fill out a tripsheet for those and write TONU in big letters at the bottom. They should pay you for "Truck Ordered Not Used".

2k/wk? Hardly guy, figure 20-25% for taxes, you are required to pick up own health insurance, tho the truck is under warranty your time is not and will make 0 when in shop and be paying for own hotels....how is it you got screwed on company side?
