Please note you're 2.5 years behind. It might behoove you to wait until you get into the last 6 months before replying, otherwise I may start calling you Donny, as you're out of your element. ;)

And then when you do luck up and find a $5 a mile load, the customer always cancels. It's as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

Yeah, you're right, Whipper and I know that. Funny, it burns just as hot the 50th time as it does the first

The MC number, from my view, has zero bearing on the rates. What you are doing is based on your communication skills with the brokers. I'm a one truck rookie with a new authority, and virtually naming my price. I'm also realizing the there aren't very many brokers out here not willing to work with new authorities. In the first 30 days, I ran into a couple road blocks, 60-90 days, ran into one that wouldn't bypass the authority age.

Are they paying for your insurance? Only ask because mine is only costing me $6600/year.

Anybody using their business sense right now won't have to worry about this. With rates where they are, and all indications showing they will only get better for quite a while, people should be operating quality equipment, completely debt free before any freight market crash becomes a concern.

Right now, times are really good, and in those times, get out from under any and all business debt. All debt for that matter.

That's if they're responsible enough to do it..
