I guess You all must have misunderstood me...
I wasn't complaining about the Rules... But it's just so Confusing!
I Really don't Know What I'm Allowed to Do or Not Allowed to do.
I guess posting Links,,, if, yes, no, where, not where.
Panhandle,,, you asked about how you go from dry van to heavy hauling.?
When you're in the business for 30 years, it takes time. We started out with one truck and a Van to haul produce. Built that up and eventually bought our own produce from farms and found customers (retail stores) to buy the produce.
As we grew, we added more vans and flatbeds and one stepdeck. And many different customers of our own. We had so many customers calling us and not enough trucks. We then had three trucks of our own and five owner operators.
Some loads were flatbed, and we also had a contract with a Bird Seed Company and Motts that went on the vans. These were dedicated runs. We also had a contract with this company that works on roads and needed their equipment and road signs hauled.
We were Very fortunate to "accidently" run into this Drilling Company, that needed their equipment hauled. We were broke down on the side of the road and found this guy that was working for this company to repair our leaking fuel tank. He got us on with this drilling company. This company drills and lays pipes in lakes and other waterways. We would send five trucks out at a time,or depending on how many they needed, to different areas in the country and Canada where they were drilling. Most of their equipment were legal size and on flatbeds. They had one or two pieces of equipment that were heavy and oversized.
And that's how we got started.
This company paid extremely well, so we ditched the Van work, ha, ha, and the customers that went with it. They paid so well , we didn't need to find loads (backhauls) to come back on., and they kept us busy.
Any Business likes Local People and Dedicated People to Haul their Freight.
They Are Out there !. You just gotta knock on doors. My husband was very good at that.
That's the Best way to Go! After so many years, and headaches we got rid of it all ( equipment and authority ) and just leased on with someone... boy, was that a Mistake!
Now we're back to square one again.
Thanks for all your Replies and Welcome.!!
Like that pic of the eagle and lil' scottie !
Ooooooops , I'm Screwed

Hello and welcome!
Rules is rules, but as far as I can see, posting links is out, (unless its in a PM), but apart from that, I think its all pretty Ok, as long as you don't insult anyone!
Even if you trip up, the mods are human.
(well except for the one who might be a bot, jury is still out on that one!! LOL):smt102
I accidentally posted a link once, (been working graveyard, complete no-brainer!), and I got a VERY quick PM from a mod, telling me to get rid of it.:smt021
They were fine about it, it was my mistake, no real harm done!
Anyway, welcome, hope you enjoy it here. You'll find some of the threads are more to do with food than trucking, but there you go.
Oh, and chocolate, always people wanting to talk about chocolate.......

Mrs T & DoubleDear,
You can post links, but you are limited in what those links are.
Obviously, no e-mail and paid sites. You can link to legitimate news, wikipedia, Youtube, and a whole range of other sites.
The mods are pretty quick to catch a snafu, and not hard to get along with.
The link restriction, can seem pretty vague at times. But it's easier to work with than it appears. Just follow the money, that's a pretty good guidelineWiseguywireless, DoubleDear and Mrs T Thank this. -
