What happened to "real" restaurants at truckstops? What stops still have them?

Oh and the Petro in Eloy is about as close as you'll come to a normal, get the truck fixed, good restaurant stop that is left on this planet.

Thank you so much for the name! I can never remember it and eat there all the time. The ribs there are huge!

WV in general is a good state for a truck driver to find good food. The restaurant at Jane Lew is pretty good as well, the TA west of Charleston has plenty of places within walking distance, and there’s even a Pilot on 79 that has a Moe’s, nice change of pace from the norm

Oldironfan, JonJon78 and homeskillet Thank this.

I forgot about that stop in Jane Lew. That's a good place as well. That Moe's is fantastic!!!! Those massive burritos will hold you for a day. I did stop at this burrito bar at the Hana Truck Stop in Mount Pleasant, TX. It did a 187 on my stomach though.

Today's "steering wheel holders" don't want to spend the money, are content on jumbo bag of chips, 12,800oz soda and hot pockets. Comfort food they are used to while playing world of Warcraft.[/QUOTE]

You mean the ones you see in truckstops with headsets on walking around babbling nonsense?

    Dave_in_AZ and Oldironfan Thank this.

The old decrepit steering wheel holders who yak and yak nonstop and bore everyone to death and think they’re flirting with the waitress and then leave her a 50 cent tip. Well they ruined the service for us steering wheel holders since the waitresses expect every driver will tip like a stingy fool.

As myself on my 2nd year I gave up to all truck stop restaurants,
SAME freaking menu everywhere, some 2 types of chicken, 3 types of steak
Few types of eggs, nothing freaking changes! Why I need to spend 20$ on food I can cook home, I would rather save and spend somewhere the same amount of money on some fancy restaurant, when I am at home.
( Yes, I like Japanese, Turkish, Indian and french cuisine) good luck to find one of them at truck stop

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

That place is garbage. Basically overpaying for some imaginary ambience. Most overrated truck stop in the country by far

The Taco Bell in there is great, otherwise I always went to the bar across the street and ate.
