Hey guys! I m a new driver and i try to drive really safely and as safely as possible. Last night i was on US-45 in TN about to enter missisipi and there were some stop lights. As i was approaching the light, the light turned yellow and then red. I honked my air horn and i passed the light. But as soon as i passed the light i got a picture clicked and also it was raining really bad and i didnt wanna take a chance of stopping and slipping or something. So my question to you guys is that do u guys think i might get a ticket? Will it go on my record?

I am not sure but I do not think blowing horn makes it ok to run a red light!

my state has traffic cameras, and they are an $85.00 civil offense, and not a driving infraction.

i also forgot to add, this can take some time before the city/town/county locates you.

you may however, get a reaming from the safety dept, as to why you did that...like YOU KNEW it was raining, why were you NOT driving SLOWER, why did you NOT anticipate a light change.....

so you can be in MORE hot water with your company.......

If you want to drive safely, learn how to stop at stop lights.

exactly..the ticket goes to THEM, as it's thier truck..then they WILL KNOW you were the driver.

you stated heavy rain....why did you not drive slower, knowing full well there was a red light ahead....no traffic light stays green forever. you should have anticipated a light change, and slowed down even more.

so yeah, you WILL BE in hot water with your company....how they take care of this situation with you...i cannot say.....but you had better have a better explanation as to why you blew a red light. some red light cameras even have a radar for speed.

Depends on how much identification is on your truck. Like most trailers, the company name is rarely on the back. You may get lucky. It's just a scam to raise revenue. You pay them hush money for the ticket and it's not turned in. Some people have said they will never take you to court because they cannot prove who was driving.
