I am in school and already have a valid medical card. I'm going to apply for a driver trainee position.

lifting, pulling, pushing.......x amount of weights, and other physical tests.....
i know for a fact, that the AAA auto club does this for thier road service people!!
thing is, no company HAS TO accept a DOT physical that you present to them. but many others do.
good luck.localguy65 Thanks this. -

Yes you redo a physical with a hair follicle drug test. Then you’ll schedule a strength test.

Many trucking companies disregard the existing DOT Medical card you got the day before at whatever doctor even Concentra or whatever. It matters nothing to the company who will SEND you to ANOTHER doctor (Theirs) for a physical.
The only value your original 2 year DOT Medical card is your home state CDL at the DMV. Hold on to that one. Renew it prior to expiry.
LTL and food service is very physical. It makes total sense to work the applicant to see if you have heart failure or something that will prevent you to do the work day in and day out which is not as easy as holding the steering wheel. Ive done some big time truckload lumping sometimes twice a day, that's easy compared to LTL or Food service work. Thats for those who are in shape to do it.localguy65 and Radman Thank this. -

The body is like a sort of machine. Everything is related and if something is not well in there nothing will come out right. If you catch it early that is your best defense.localguy65 and Radman Thank this. -
