I agree with just about everything you said except your attack on the author. The guy has apparently devoted most of his adult life to understanding the trucking industry through study, extensive interviewing of truckers and first hand experience. He knows way more about the goings on of the trucking industry than probably 99% of current drivers, most importantly, he seems to have the best interests of drivers at heart.

I can understand that, it quite common for the cookie warning. But, above that is an advertisement, and above that is some request for feedback. All of that together completely defiles what they are there to do in the first place.

They want to tell a story? That what I want to read. Not a bunch of crab about nothing right off the bat. Did you even look at the image I posted? Do you see any part of the story on that, and now you want to dismiss all of it on the basis of only a cookie disclaimer? Really

You don't like the way the trucking industry is run, you can do one of two things, start your own company and do it your way, or go do something else, leave the government out of it. Your life problems are not the government's problems to solve.

I run actively against extraneous stuff cookies are the least of my concerns, they are gone in a variety of ways a glance at my browser's add ons I have about a dozen that do nothing but block stuff of all sorts. Then it has to get past security.

Im not worrying about the problems I can see and interdict. I worry about really good stuff like man in the middle attacks and so on. Security IT courses were useful at least for that. But ultimately nothing is private online and it is forever.

A hard drive retains quite a bit, even after being deleted and wiped, they can still maybe recover the data forensically.

I miss early internet. People would spend an insane amount of time learning basic HTML or even DHTML putting content on free hosting sites like angelfire or geocities. They just wanted to share what they knew and that was satisfaction enough. Maybe there was a thin add banner to pay for the hosting.

Now there is money in it and it becomes profit to explain the trivial. People want to make too much profit for nothing.

Strange reactions.... the things he describes, while not impacting me directly (I work for a pretty decent company) are clearly wrong, harm your fellow man, and need fixing.

This might be news, but the governments already in it. Maybe it’s tome for some legislation that’s favorable to drivers.

I would simply say that people should demand the respect of a professional and not consort with unprofessional companies, "drivers", and fleece 1099 operations.

I do not need another law from the government ####ing up the industry any more than it is. Drivers can demand the wages they want.

Did you say he has the best interests of the drivers at heart with a straight face:confused:

No one advocating collective bargaining has anything but getting free money out of what someone else labors at.

Yes the government's already in it, we don't need them in it more, is all that will do is raise the cost of everything, which will erase any "pay raise", it's simple economics anybody should be able to understand.
