Nope
I actually liked my super 10 - only had the airline to change ranges freeze up once. Most people hated them but I never really did - had mine behind a 3406e

Just west of Memphis, TN a few moments ago and boom-bang-pow, the Arkansas Highway Brigade gives me a Level 1 in the pouring rain with a solid 25mph crosswind. By the time the trooper was finished he looked like a wet dog. No rain coat or suit and no hat. Just a wet uniform only to find not one single violation.
On a side note, to the Classic Pete pulling a Reefer, you really pissed this trooper off when you ####*ng blew past us in the right lane while every single truck moved over for the flashing red and blues. He said if he hadn't already begun the inspection on me that he would be coming after you. Whoever you are, you got lucky tonight.Al. Roper, beastr123, exhausted379 and 23 others Thank this. -

I have 18 spd main box and an air shift 4 spd aux box
When I am heavy I start in underdrive and through the bottom ( I don’t split the bottom unless I am stupid heavy and it uphill) the into the high side. I will spilt the next gear and then go into 1:1 and split the rest of the gears to the top. Low in the aux i only use for a totally screwed up job site to get rolling. It is there in case I get stuck on a hill and have to try to get moving - I kinda think of it as my Ohio insurance policy but that is a different story and It still stings a little.
So @stwik even though I have 72 combinations possible a lot of them are the same result or close enough so 7over in underdrive is the same (it close enough) to 7 direct in 1:1PoleCrusher, Feedman, 1951 ford and 18 others Thank this. -

It is very easy to operate - just don’t change ranges in the aux while changing gears in the main box. I have heard that you have to come to a complete stop to get it back into range and gear - not that I ever did it myself mind you but ...
Mine is the same set up as @haulhand
It is a 4 position switch mounted on a separate stand (mine is next to the drivers seat). Just move the switch same as you would to split a gear and it will change ranges - just match the rpm and away you you. The 2 spd aux (at-1702 I think) - you can only change range up. It down when moving).i regularly change into under drive as I am dropping gears when climbing a hill (usually in 6 over) but you can do it anywhere along the way.
Yup - 5 minutes with it and you are good to go. Just see the note above about trying to a gear change and range change at the same time
Yesterday was a cluster and they moved the ship date up for the second load from GA and I can’t get back in time to meet their schedule- so I am a bit pissy at the moment as it hits my wallet in a significant way. So I ran 600 miles to Weyburn SK today and and going to try and get to Mitchell SD at least tomorrow. And nonit is still cold and I think no matter where I am I am going to catch snow Thursday.
I would have just headed back to AZ but the weather made that a retarded choice so I am loosely bouncing towards IL or TX based on work.
Hopefully something good comes along...Tug Toy, PoleCrusher, Feedman and 20 others Thank this. -
223 was starting to drink oil like I drink beer on weekends. Was going through a gallon a week. Coming out of the crank case (gasket they never bothered to fix) at the front, dripping from blow by, and other places as well. Going to need a rebuild soon and I don't want to be driving it when it "####s the bed" as our mechanic would put it, and with this Williston contract, neither does logistics want me in it.
247 is a good truck, but the inside is rough, and hasn't been taken care of (par for the course I'm starting to find at my company). I have no problems running older equipment, but when it's spec'd as a base model interior, and still has the same seat it came from the factory with in 2005 (2006MY) that's giving me knots in my lower back I never had in 223, I can't just tolerate it as much and excuse it like I would have a year ago. It's lazy and cheap. And they keep asking themselves why they have problems holding onto drivers.Tug Toy, PoleCrusher, Feedman and 18 others Thank this.
