I've been running a cb in my pickup for about 4 years. I've always had mag mount antennas and so far not had any problems. Last week, my SWR's started randomly fluctuating between 1.0 an 2.0. Yesterday, they went up to 3.0 and 4.0 on the meter in my cb. ( Anytone 6666). I got out the meter. It read even higher. Today, I'm almost pegging the meter in the red. The cb fluctuated between the high SWR message and an 18.0 reading. I got a new antenna. I tried 3 radios on both antennas and got high reading on all 3 ratios on both antennas. I checked both antennas for shorts and opens, both tested good. 2 of the radios, I powered from the direct lines from the battery, and 2 Connected through the power port. Still high SWR's.
I have no Idea what to do next. Can anyone help?
I need antenna help

Is the coax running through a pinch point? or some area that flexes alot?
Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
No. I ran the new antenna coax through an open window.
-
What type of antenna?
It may have water in it,rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

I missed what you wrote in you OP. so much for that idea.

One of the antennas is brand new
-
It's a Wilson Lil Wil

Are you testing in the clear, not near any metal buildings or other objects, etc?
-
OK let's do a few things here.
First off the SWR is not dependent on the radio, that is a signal source and only a signal source.
Second let's talk about the antennas themselves ...
you said they are magnet mount antennas - right?
If so then how old are they?
What type of pickup do you use them on and where are they located on the pickup - we can't always assume they are on the cab.
When you say that the coax is out the window, do you shut the window?
AND as this may not make sense, but where are you at in the country?rabbiporkchop Thanks this.
