You can select the trailer type and other stuff before the search and narrow the results down. Do a search for Landstar public board or something like that and play with it a little.
Unless you know a BCO that will pass you their logon, I would hope you never have access to the entire board. One of the reasons to lease to Landstar is to get access to the full board. Your accessing that info freely would degrade the value. A recruiter may give you a glimpse. But not enough to know all your rates and lanes.
Actually the rates were from 14 years ago. What's funny, is they're probably not much different today.
Several years back when I still looked at Landstar's outside carrier loadboard daily it had columns with the rates just exactly like that top screen shot you say is for the Landstar BCO trucks. I haven't looked at it in 4 or 5 years though and haven't booked more than that many loads from them in that time frame either.
No separate board for "explosives". I have done fireworks and other class 1 off the BCO board. AA&E is usually not posted and filled by agents that keep you in a Rolodex after you form a relationship, they call you when they may have something of interest. Other types of specialized freight is filled from the Rolodex then the leftovers are put on the board.
Well, yes. Was just a shot in the dark. I’m just trying to figure things out. Research and figurin’ and more of it. I know there’s a big ‘to Landstar or not to Landstar’ debate. Just tryin to figure things out...
I would actually recommend that you start working with other brokerage boards. There has been a major shift in the quality of Agents at Landstar in the past couple of years. The agents are not going out and getting their own freight from shippers as much. It seems most of the loads from newer agents are loads given to them by bottom feeding brokers. It has been a trend for some time but has gotten terrible of late.
Well, here's something for you to ponder. I pulled some screenshots off DAT, L.A. to wherever highest posted rate. There's even a couple Landstar offerings.
Now you see what I meant by my comment that today's rates aren't any better than they were in that screenshot you posted from 2005! LOL
