There are many great threads on this site and if one thread has made a difference for any wannabe, company driver or O/O. We at the truckers report have done our job, along with the great members that have helped made this a great site.

I fell into this site, and not looking to find anything, have found everything I was looking for myself. I found people who have a vested interest in the safety of new and experienced drivers alike. I have found others who want to warn against making the mistake they made.
I have found good honest people who have a passion similar to mine, indipendance of mind and action as well as a desire to see the country and be in control of their destiny (in my estimation).
Bahkum, I would say I'm sorry that you haven't found what you are looking for, but maybe you are looking too hard.Baack and doubledragon5 Thank this. -
Secondly, I'm just posting an observation. I wasn't aware this is against the ToS. Nor am I forcing you to reply. If anything I'm seeking some opinions on how others have done out of school. (Though, I won't be graduating till later summer.) -
Ok so you're a grammer master
But the title below is far different than what you say your looking for.

...and no it isn't. I've seen, through my looking, that job-wise I'm pretty well boned. My first post says that. The posts I've read reinforce that. So...I stated that. I'm still going to try. I'm still going to lurk here, absorbing all of the information I see. I'm still going to be the best ###### trucker in the company I start for, if I ever do get hired... I just never figured that it would be such a bleak landscape. *shrug* -
You can find a ton of negative here, no doubt. But if you pay attention to who says what you will soon identify the losers and whiners and identify the good information from the half truths.
Any industry is what you make of it. Right now, finding a cake job is pretty much out of the question. I am transitioning to OTR because I need to work. I lost a reasonably high paying job due to the economy. It wasn't performance related, they have offered to call me back once things turn around. In the mean time, I have to make my mortgage payment and keep my sanity so If I am going to take a pay cut I am going to change industries as well. I don't expect to get rich driving and I do expect to work my tail off. You will never hear me complain about my employer unless I have it well documented.
One other thing. Don't correct other peoples english, it's rude and frankly, you aren't that good. Nobody is. -
Yeh go ahead and hang out at the McDonalds forum, lot better place for you. -
Correcting people's mistakes is not rude. If I make mistakes I want them corrected. (Grammatically or otherwise.) Sorry for rudely fitting my desires down other people's throats, but once upon a time I was an English major. Old habits die hard, and none of us are without our flaws.
As far as the jobs. It's pretty depressing that people have to make up lies about the way things are to scare off wannabes. If I would've known that I would not even have posted. Gee, petty much?

It's not that people are making up stories, some are going from their own experience, whether good or bad.. you do get some who complain, that they got fired for some little thing, and make the company out to be a bad place to go.. There is good, and bad in everyone, and every company.. Heck people hate Swift, I liked them,ya I had my faults, but I admit most of the faults were not caused by the company, but by my lack of knowledge..
panhandlepat and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
this industry is TIGHT right now with the economy down and all. you will find on this sight that most members ain't gonna sugar coat things as fine and dandy when they AIN'T.
sure there are a lot of pessimistic people on here, but if you look hard enough you will also find optimism and encouragement. even help from the "doosday, the sky is falling" crowd
even in a good economy this is sometimes a tough biz to succeed in as a newbie. nowdays the percentage just got quite a bit lower. I SAY hang in there, and if you DO make it into a solo position, hold onto it TIGHT till you get in a yr or 2 exp and things turn around.
good luck!Texas-Nana, doubledragon5, simplyred1962 and 1 other person Thank this.
