Well I started for Barr-Nunn in October everything was going great. I was getting good miles, had a decent truck, and team leader. It all went downhill around January, they had closed a terminal in Ohio. This wasn't a big deal until I started running out of supplies (log sheets, lights, ect). I was on Ohio regional which would get me home every weekend YA RIGHT!
I would complain that I didn't have a load so they would give me a "DUMMY LOAD" so I couldn't call and complain... I ended up quiting but before quitting they placed a dummy load on me so my team leader explained that was quitting under dispatch. I didn't care, I quit deadheaded home from Columbus and waited to see what i was gonna do with the truck. They took my paycheck saying that I owed them for a 60o dollar sign on bonus. I returned the truck to the Pennsylvania terminal at my own expense and they still charged me.
So now Im putting in applications for other companies and I keep wondering why none are calling me back. So i end up getiing a copy of my DAC and that's when I saw what they did. They posted false info on my DAC and because of that It has ruined my career. I have no idea how to dispute it. SO BEWARE OF BARR-NUNN THEY ARE NOTHING BUT DIRTY!!!
Good Ol' Barr-Nunn

Your sign on bonus is yours if you stayed 180 days. Recheck your paperwork you got in orientation. If you cleaned out the truck and returned it to were you were required you should not be billed for anything. Call human resources and question them. If they can't explain it to you than contact the Federal Labor Board and lodge a complaint. It is useless to contact your State or IA State labor board as the rules vary from State to State but you can try.
Can't help you about the DAC. What is a Dummy Load? -
A "dummy load" is a load that has a Pick up location but no drop date or what the company name is.

there is information on this site about fixing you dac...... it costs money, but would be worth it if you are planning on driving for a career. look at the dacfix at the top of the page... good luck to you

A "dummy load" is a load that doesn't really exist, but if you are offered a load, and refuse.....well, you know how the rest goes. The way to curtail this is to, occasionally, ask to be faxed the paperwork for the load. It ca, also, be as simple as being in the habit of requesting "live" information from the shipper prior to movement. If there is insufficient info, don't move. If you gain a reputation as someone who wants this info (under the guise of 'having all my ducks in a row'), dummy loads will be hard to pass off on you.

If you quit under a load, they have every right to put that on your DAC. No matter how mad you are at the company, finish the job then return the truck to the terminal. Good Luck
Baack Thanks this. -
Yes, Barr-Nunn puts Drivers on probation and even fires Drivers for idling to stay warm or cool. Their precious fuel and $$ is way more important than a lowly Driver, in their eyes. Of course, there would be a lot less idling if they kept the Drivers moving and working and running, but instead , Barr-Nunn Drivers sit A LOT.See my message that I wrote yesterday under Report a Bad Company, you'll learn lots more !

I was leased bto B/N they are bottom feeders all or most all of their freight is brokered . they want you to sit around and wait untill something pops up and then you are supposed to be Johnny on the spot. they don't like it when you ask questions or want them to put it on the Qualcom. I did not last long but nobody does
