    It
Depends on which division. OTR does go to New England, etc.

This thread was intended to describe orientation. I'm not a recruiter, and I don't know all the details about some of the questions asked. If people are serious, they'll take the time and make a phone call.

Having said that, I've been driving for System 5 weeks this time around. I'm very happy with my truck, with my manager, with my loads, and, importantly, with my pay checks.

I'll be turning in the T800 soon, as it's got over 580K on it now. I'm torn about losing the stick. It's easier with an automated tranny, but shifting sometimes breaks up the monotony, and I definitely feel like I have more control while climbing and descending with a stick, but, that's the breaks.

Ah, I’m looking at moving to Rhode Island, that’s why i’m asking. Still don’t want to go to NYC lol. I’ll run LA/Chicago any day of the week. Just don’t send me to that madhouse.

Glad it’s going well at System tho!

I drove for System for 3 months last winter. My first load was to CT and MA, I had to take the George Washington Bridge and cross, North Bronx I think it is? Yeah, pretty, um, exciting.

The division I'm on now stays west of Ohio and north of I-70, mostly. I've taken 3 runs into Canada already, Edmonton, Calgary and Galloway. We go to Galloway a lot.

If you run it enough it will be exciting.

So, new truck. The 2013 T800 served me very well, strongest truck I've driven, but it was at over 588K, so its out to pasture. I was told today that the Paccars have composite blocks, which makes them about 1000 lbs lighter. I did not know this.

Today I swapped all my gear into a 2020 T680. Smallest sleeper I've ever seen. Beautiful truck though. I'm getting one of the step boxes moved to it from the T800 tomorrow, then hopefully under load in the afternoon.

I've been lying about it, but I'll come clean now. I'm looking forward to having an automated tranny again.

Apparently, a lot of drivers feel the same about the tiny sleeper and storage. I don't mind the small sleeper, I mean, it's a job, I signed on for it, and frankly, I love the job and, for the most part, the company. But such small storage space for necessary gear, yeah, that's sort of a kick in the crotch.

If the JJW drivers had the sleepers the system/twt guys had they’d be happy as all get out.
