I have a 2015 Cascadia day cab with a mirror mount. It’s been really hard to tune the antenna when I but when I just barely crack the door open the number come in perfect I thought it might be the latch so I covered it so it woo make a metal to metal contact but that didn’t work then I unplugged the plug that goes into the door switch and that didn’t help.

@Ohmslaw have you checked your grounds?
      Which antenna are you using?

@rabbiporkchop I have a Predator 10k with a 22 in shaft not the one I had ordered but I went ahead and kept it. I also have a 5 ft Firestik ll also. I the grounded mount to the door then door to firewall. Everything seems well grounded looking with my ohm meter. When I check the cab to frame it says -8 ohms. Not sure on why that is. Planning on today or tomorrow adding a ground cable from the back of the cab to the frame. The antenna I ordered was a Predator completion plus and was going to get a 27 in shaft for it but they sent the other one.

@Ohmslaw you have a voltage problem traveling through your sheet metal. -8 means electricity is traveling through your ground. That antenna is a little short and needs to be a couple feet longer

Yea I wish was longer but I do have be careful about trees. Mount to door and door to cab is good continuity. Cab to frame has the neg. I’ll try another ground from back of cab to frame and see what that does.

@Ohmslaw it sounds like you have a direct short somewhere and positive current is Flowing straight the ground. That's why you're getting the negative reading on the ohmmeter
