I need help please, i'm in the market to buy a truck . My previous one was 2015 Volvo VNL 670 with D13, i found a 2019 Volvo with Cummins X15 450 HP and 10 speed automatic eaton fuller transmission 530xxx miles on it and thermo king APU !!! Will you guys advise me to buy it or no ? Thank you in advance
need more info than that. Price range, photos, have you had truck checked,? Ecm pull? oil samples? I’ve never had a dyno, but i check everything else, climb under it, go from front to back, etc.
Yes i did everything checks up , but i am not familiar with the auto eaton fuller trans are they good or bad ?
What did the dyno/blowby show? did you get a dump on the ecm and drive train module? any error codes? The OA on the trans show any high metal content?
I don’t care for automatics in general, but I especially don’t like the Eatons. The ones I’ve driven were really jerky in reverse, they’d start off in 1st gear even empty. I’ve even had them jump out of gear in reverse and would have to stop, go to neutral and back into a reverse. The only auto that I drove that actually worked pretty much as it should was a DT-12 in a Freightshaker. Bottom line, I wouldn’t buy any truck with an auto. Just haven’t had good experiences with them.
