Insect windshields

It's been that time of year again where at the end of the day I can barely see out of my windshield due to the hundreds of dead insects.

I tried using bug cleaner windshield washer but I swear it did nothing. Biggest waste of $4.

Any suggestions on how to keep your windshield a bit cleaner?

 

Drive only during the rain when the bug are in hiding?

lol really not much you can do.
I found that wax type or rain x application helps as it puts a slippery film on windshield so bug comes off easier.

 

A small amount of dawn dish washing soap mixed in washer tank will help get the bugs off your windows?

 

Dawn and water is the way to go in the summer .

 

What they said. Dont need alot of dish soap. About a teaspoon per gallon is plenty. It needs to be able to break the surface tension of water. Tho if the washer is spraying suds, you might have too much soap in there. LOL

 

I spray a lil windex/great value window cleaner, let it soak a few seconds, then use wipers/washer fluid.
Putting a big shield on helps, I see a ton of them get knocked in the air by the wind draft

 

Avoid driving in east Texas or near wetlands whenever possible.

I used to carry a car wash brush on a pole with me to better clean my windshield. Other drivers would see me using it and ask to borrow it.

Vinegar and or Dawn. If you use vinegar (that’s what I use), you’ll need to use a couple of cups. I also run a couple of cups of vinegar (uncut) through the washer lines periodically so the nozzles don’t start clogging up and working half arse.
