Found out the yard test for svtn consist of pre and post trip, backing( straight line, 90 degree and 45 degree) and coupling and uncoupling. I’ve never coupled/ uncouple before and we didn’t do that in school. I might not make it guys

Updated: svtn went well, the safety director help me with the coupling/ uncoupling, did a short pretip ( safety director got tired of me saying brakes this, tires this, lights this). It was extremely hot that day and I can say we both didn’t feel like stay out there all day. After that did a short backing and I was good to go. I declined the job do to travel time. I’m 2hr and 30mins away from Saraland al. But anyway, I sleave for Schneider in the am. Headed to Houston . Right now I’m doing regional but I’m considering OTR

Just an update. I went to SCHNIEDER back in July 16. Went through all the training etc etc. I’ve been on my own for about a month now. Since I’ve been out , Superior carriers have emailed me twice and called me yesterday( out of Creola Alabama) . You guys think I should make the switch?

Hmmm...do you like it there? At this point in my life, I can afford to say it's not all about the money. It's really more about the people you're going to be working with. When I transferred from our Louisville branch to Houston I was blown away by the sheer size of the "new" branch and the fact that there are more than 10X the number of drivers down here. We were kinda family back in KY. What I'm finding is that the longer I'm here, the smaller it gets. And everyone is just as cool as they were back home.

Schneider has made an investment in you. Personally, I think you have an obligation to return the favor. If you enjoy it, stick with it for a time. Superior isn't going away anytime soon.

If you’re happy where you are, stay awhile. As already stated, Superior isn’t going anywhere.

Stay at least a year and a half. Looks better on your application
