I’ll be headed west through I-90 Snoqualmie Pass in a couple days. I’ve never drove it and seeing that there may be some snow, just preparing. How steep and long are the grades? How sharp are the curves?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Have you been listening to the cb again?
Not to worry unless it's snowing but this late in the year good bet it's rain.

No big deal. I think its 4500 feet max. It has a stretch of about 10 miles that climbs steadily and then its level hen you reach the east side which is mostly high plains desert. The weather says partly sunny after Sundays rain system blows by. Can you come through on Monday or Tuesday?

Like any grade, keep your speed safe and the details don't matter.

Yep. For any reading this, I’ll be the guy you are passing. Especially if it’s a road that is new to me mixed with snow.

It’s long-ish but it ain’t steep compared to some of the other passes out west. Keep your speed under control and give yourself some distance for the stupidity of others.

Sounds good to me. I drive slow in conditions you describe.

Good on you. Don't feel pressured by being passed. Be safe.

Deere hunter and Dennixx Thank this.

Oh,youll be ok.Ive had to chain up on it probably 20 times in the last 5 winters. Try not to drive over it in the dark. Hit it about 7am to 5pm range. Its under a mile elevation and has been "widened out" over the last few years. Going West over it is easier than East (towards Ellensburg). About 3 curves down and theres a chain off area on right.Temperature usually goes from 32° to suddenly 36° after you drop down.

    Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt and nredfor88 Thank this.
