I don't have any experience, but I have been following the trucking industry for 5 years. Just career change number 3 for me. I'm most likely going to use denver as my hometown. Having no family to get home to, being out for 3 months won't be a problem since I do that know with my current profession. As a former small business owner, I want to be an OO. The thought of dealing with me as my own employee is relief compared to 30 generation Y. cry babys i'm dealing with now. I'm assuming cheyenne would be my home terminal. Would that be correct? Thanks

You can request a transfer to another terminal if you find it hard to get along with your terminal manager. -
Do you have a particuler favorite termanal or FM? I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks
-
From what I have heard (having never met her) the woman running Cheyenne is supposed to be very good at taking care of her drivers. Unfortunately the terminal itself is not much to look at. We have a drop yard in Denver over off of Pecos Ave where you would be able to leave your truck on home time. -
Does crete have a list of drop yards? or is that a need to know basis.
-
I know dispatch has a current list but I don't think they publish a "drop yard" list because the leases come and go so quick on them that it would always need constant editing.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info

Well, I just finished my second week of truck driving school. Only three weeks left to go!! I called Crete yesterday to check on my application, which the school faxed to them on monday, and talked to Jennifer. She had a couple questions for me that I answered. She said everything is looking good so far except that she can't reach my last employer. Once she hears from them, I should be good. So to answer that one question from a few posts back, it sounds like they are hiring students and are considering at least one from my school.

Say, I was just wondering if any of you Crete drivers ever run on I-75 between Cincinnati and Dayton, OH and northward. I drive that everyday on my way to and from Napier Truck Driving School and see Crete trucks all the time. Was just wondering if any of them might be you guys. Also, ealier this week, we had a visit from a Crete driver stop by just to say hi and show off his truck, which was a brand new Freightliner in Schaffer blue, but had a Crete trailer. The thing about this guy was he was an older, pudgy, bald gentleman from England. Didn't get his name, but he was a very nice guy and gladly opened up his truck to us so we could take a look. Very cool.
I finally got the right information to Jennifer at Crete so she could finish confirming my past employment history, which she did. She told me everything looked good for her and that she would pass my application on to the safety department for review and that I should give her a call on monday. Wish me luck!!! -
