hi I don't think this site allows information on getting a truck deleted. but maybe they will allow information about a truck that has already been deleted. I will state my question first and then see if its allowed. I hope so because I don't know where to turn to for the true answer. ok so I have a mx13 epa 10 that's been deleted. the original hp settings are 455hp. the after delete hp is now 510hp. from what I have seen the mx13 is able to be turned up to 510 without problems. so my problem is that last summer I had to put the truck in the shop for a suspected blown head gasket. which turned out to be a cracked head. the motor had gotten pretty hot a couple times so im thinking that was the cause of the head crack. so after the dealership installed the new head it was just a couple weeks after that I started seeing a cold water leak on the driver side right behind one of the injector pumps. I talked to the dealership that did the job and they said that I could ride like that for awhile but bring it in as soon as I can and they will fix the problem as it is under warranty. the new head job I mean. I was out of work for a couple months and broke with no money for diesel to get it to the shop at that time. so I finally got leased on again to another company and have been busting my but to get bills caught up. not quite there yet but no worries. anyway, so now I noticed this last week that the engine is now leaking quite a bit on the passenger side behind the egr manifold. I contacted the dealership and took the truck in to get fixed. they will start on it next week. so after talking with some friends they said it might be the extra power that the truck was turned up to that is causing the head gaskets to fail. so I don't know if that's the cause or if a cold water leak is a common problem after installing a new head or head gasket. one friend a good mechanic himself said that it happens.. cold water leak after a new head or gasket. any certified mechanics out here that would know the truth of this matter that aren't just anti-delete enthusiasts please feel free to give me your opinions
    thanks in advance...

Truck is probably turned up way over 510hp, doesn't matter what the tuner says. Yes that could have caused your first cracked head. I would be curious where the leak is exactly coming from, could be a unrelated egr cooler leak. If it is coming out the headgasket you might have block fretting issues from the previous failure.

thanks for ur reply. I wonder if there is a way to check to see what the hp has been turned up to ? no its not coming from egr cooler.. definitely from head gasket. idk what block fretting is

Only way is to put it on a dyno. I have had multiple trucks where they claim its "only" at 550 hp and it lays down 600+ at the rear wheels.

Is the increased power the problem, or is it bad work on the shops part?

It could be either one or both. Shops will not normally warranty work on engines that have higher than normal power settings.
Block fretting is wear from slight cylinder head movement over a long period of time.

What’s the seat of your pants tell you....?

If that thing is putting down 600 hp you should be able to tell.....and if so don’t lug the engine keep the rpms up when your putting the boost to it.....low rpms and lots of fuel = heat.

“Fretting is a poorly understood form of fatigue caused by minute oscillating motions between materials in rubbing contact. Fretting refers to wear and sometimes corrosion damage at the asperities of contact surfaces.”

    Means your block might suck....:(

I will never let a truck off mine be tuned without a dyno.
My previous truck was tuned at a dyno and it put down to much power.
Tuner turned it down because in his words "if i leave it like this, you will blow that engine within a year".

Many differences between tuner and hacker. Most hakers doing deletes are clueless about theory of diesel engine operation.
