@Tug Toy is there any corn in your area that is left standing or is it all harvested?

I’ve never heard anything BAD about them. I just don’t care for the amount of arch in them. Company I used to work for has 6 or 8 of them.

It’s all in. I don’t think in the 8 years I lived here I ever seen any corn in past November around here. I have Seen a couple of bean fields in over the winter though.

I thought it was strange your just now finishing. Did it get to wet on ya? Or just letting it dry in the field more?

Hey @SAR you wouldn’t believe how much ground didn’t get planted in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. I’d of never believed it if I didn’t see it for myself. They didn’t even plant beans on it.

Most of the corn did not make maturity and moisture was just too high to harvest. We do not have a drier so the only option was to let it stand and naturally dry. Test weights are low this year.

We lucked out up here as we don't have much snow on the ground and the temps have been warmer which allowed us to get it home in the bin. When we tried the corn in November it was 25-30 moisture. The last field we just took off was 19.

ln a normal year we are done harvesting corn around end of October

I did hear some areas did not get planted do to the wet weather, but didn't realize it was that much. Im sure it was a different view for you looking at bare fields.

I just amazes me that the prices are where there at, especially with so little crop harvested last year
