The 6NZ had the old pump and Cat never admitted to much about the lack of fuel pressure in those...You find them shimmed all the time and with springs Stretched.
The spring kit I mentioned above is only for the later pumps with allen head plug.

Truck is Kenworth T800 with RTLO-18918B, 4.10 axle ratio, 11.00 X 24.5 tire size,
does heavy haul and averages around 180K gross
Here are PARS DYNO results from the "Gov. Speed" and 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Lugs:
Eng Speed (RPM) 1803, 1697, 1600, 1402, 1211
Manifold Pressure ("Hg) 67.9, 67.0, 67.0, 69.9, 63.3
Fuel Pressure (PSI) 89.3, 88.3, 87.5, 86.5, 83.8 -
the 6NZ is listed in Cat pdf you posted on spring kit. what am i missing here? thanks for the reply.

You are not missing anything PaulE
These later So called Higher volume Transfer pumps will go onto 6NZ or any other 3406E, C15, C16 C18 engine. Old engine, New engine
I only buy the later ones.
I simply identify them by the Relief plug on the side. The old type the plug is 5/8 spanner size and points towards the Chassis.
The later type have the Allen plug and its pointing towards the Chassis and the ground which is 45% so they are easy to identify at a glance.
The later pumps are 3166864 Clockwise
and the 3166863 Counter-Clockwise -
What was the horsepower? that fuel pressure is a bit low but not heaps low.
32lb is way low, what was it before? a 475 should have at least 40lb wonder why didn't they pick this up on the dyno... -
Before this problem it was 44 to 45lb.
DYNO results re HP:
Eng Speed (RPM) 1803, 1697, 1600, 1402, 1211

Corrected Engine HP 485, 460, 463, 502, 431

I would say you might have something wrong with Intake Valve Actuators. Did they test them or run a cut out test on the injectors?
Below is a link to my dyno numbers after my rerate to a 550 and I have all ways had 50 to 55 pounds of boost, but if a IVA starts going bad I will drop 5 psi.

Cats published engine hp for 475/1850 is 493 @1400. you have HH program which should raise peak hp to higher rpm yet you still have peak hp at 1400. strange.. engine hp not corrected your down 10 + hp. corrected and your exceeding Cats #s with only 32 psi . again strange..
Never any IVA codes? had a problem on my MXS with IVA codes and running rough. traced to injector harness plugs on side of engine. oil was entering engine side of plugs causing a poor connection. cleaned oil off plugs and engine ran great for 1-2 days til oil came back. Cat tech center told me oil had no effect on performance and to not worry about. I changed harness anyway and surprise it did effect performance. gained some power and .3-.4 mpg. IVA codes went away. guess Cat was wrong. -
Mile high! Cat sell H/P not fuel economy just so you know. Results from the par test look to be in cats range some what 80 percent of rated H/P! There are no pyro readings odd . Lets back up did you have WAGNER CAT do this par? Can you tell us if you have had any valve or injector failures? Im leaning towards exhaust fin damage in low pressure turbo or both. Looks like you got it covered now instead of a bill you want it fixed!

Mile-High send his thanks. (He's at yard working on truck. I'm relaying suggestions.) He cleaned oil out of the connections on 2 IVA plugs going into engine head. Seemed to give it 2 more lbs of boost--went up to 40 on dash gauge. Hasn't been there for awhile. Thanks.
As I understand it, problem recurred and you had to replace harness and that kept the performance gains. Did you just replace the injector harness?
