I agree completely. I stated that I had one run that was a hard 3 days of solid driving. It was also a Eurofresh load. I know all about sitting at their facility ALL day and half the night to get loaded. I even called them to ask if I should just wait in town until my appointment time, or if I stood a chance of getting loaded early. "come on out, and we'll get it loaded" was the response I got. So 11 hours later when they did get me loaded, I was a bit upset, but can't fault JCT for it. I could have asked for a repower, but after looking at the time for delivery versus the time needed to get there, I made the decision to run it.( Willcox to Minnesota and on to Chicago) I was told, incedentaly by Mr Sally, that if I felt I needed to have the load repowered to simply let him know, and he would arrange it. In my opinion, it is all a matter of communication. If I need somethiing, I communicate it, and vice versa. I refuse to "take anything out" on a dispatcher unless I know for a fact they screwed me. Thier job is NOT to listen to a driver gripe and moan about life on the road. I have never given a dispatched a bad time, and hope I never do. That is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. What do you think your next 10 loads are going to be like? Hmmmm.....

I am not putting you down for not wanting to stay at JCT, but in the same sense, why don't you stop bad mouthing them. After all, isn't that what you said you were going to do when you quit?

I agree 100% with you, driving a truck is in no way just a job, its a life style. If people want to punch a time clock this or any other trucking company is not going to make you happy..

not much to report tho, we did our drug test, physical, watched some videos...... (yawn) then went to lunch. after that was the road test and backing test then back for some more videos, covered some company stuff a few more videos, and then back to the Days Inn, thats about it. no one has been sent home, it looks like we have a good group. but the week is early.

So far, I'm still very excited to get past this week and get to work.

well i will just say that JCT may not be for everyone, i don't want to start anything.:biggrin_25513:

but we have 10 in the group and it seems like a good group of guys, and btw, the road test truck is not as bad as it was made out to be either. its not the new pete i just moved out of, and i wouldn't want it to be mine, but a 5 mile road test? she did just fine. I even made a joke about who i need to talk to about making her mine..:biggrin_25523:

Javada is simply just a trip. if you know who i'm talking about than i need to say no more..

For those running for JCT currently: is it possible to make it running solo for JCT? I know you've got a set fixed cost every week/month and the more miles you run the further above that threshold you get, but what kind of check are any solo guys taking home weekly?

I've been here for 4 years and I avg 1250 a week. And that's just running approx 165000 miles a year. Not too hard. If you manage your business right you will be making some pretty decent money. Good luck

Could you guys answer a few questions for me?
1 Did the co. provide trans to orientation from your hom?
2 Are they providing meals during orientation?
3 Are they paying you for orientation?
4 Since you had to take physical did they issue you a new medical card?
5 What type of drug screen did you have to take? eg; urine, blood, dna swab, hair ( this can speak volumes about what type of co. they are)
6 And is the process really a hurry and get you in a truck running miles deal that i have read about?
7 Are they offering any type of accounting services or classes to make sure you might succeed in this venture?

    Hello,

Is that 1250 a week after JCT has gotten their cut?

(also is that before or after Tax?)

What kind of Truck do you have ?

What speed is it set at ?

What kind of transmission does it have?

Does it have an APU ?

    Thanks
