    Cheese Sandwich Policy To Continue

    full story>>

These parents are angry that their kids aren't getting better meal? Here's a thought, send your kid with lunch money or a lunch! You made the choice to have children, now feed them. If you can't feed them, why aren't you signing up for the free lunch program? If you don't qualify, then maybe you need to re-think your budget. The truly hungry are thrilled to get a sandwich, a fruit, and a milk.

My grandson who is 10 now, last year decided he liked the sack lunch the school provided (also a cheese sandwich, fruit, veggie sticks and beverage) better than many of the menu meals. So he would ask for that instead.

My daughter nearly had a cow when she found out.

Kids are like dogs. You provide them all the clean water they could want and find them drinking out of some filthy hole. lol

When I was in school, the meals provided in this program sound better than the crap we were served. Most annoying is the fact we paid for the food.

Mom used to send me to school with a cheese sandwich lunch. It never bothered me. Neither did the 20 feet of snow I had to tunnel through both ways with hungry pterodactyls hovering overhead. Kids are wussies nowadays.

When I was in junior high school, I worked in the cafeteria and was paid with a lunch.
I didn't need a free lunch, but my father liked the idea of me "earning my lunch."
I started doing it on my own, and told my father that I didn't need lunch money. All I would do, is collect the lunch trays, rinse them off, and put them in the machine that washed and sanitized the trays, then stack them. Wasn't difficult.
