I'm hearing that it's taking 30+ days to get a truck assigned to you if you go company. I talked with them the other day, and they are still taking new grads as company drivers (if you have experience, it's lease-only). They are paying 30 CPM (that's WITH per diem) and good home time (every other week, 2 days). But I'm not sure I would go directly out of school and wait for over a month for a company truck, while they hammer you the entire time to go on a lease.
-
i have looked on here for trans am and all i can find is lease opperator complaints it sounds like bad news but so isnt waiting a month for a truck but when you get there you will be going out with a trainer does that time count for the month you have to wait
-
You'll be waiting over a month AFTER you're done with training (which lasts 3 weeks). Baiscally, after training you can:
1. wait over a month, at which point they MAY want you to pay and take a refresher course...or they may even send you home and may call you back in later, but no guarantees as to when
2. quit...NOT a good idea for your DAC...quit your first trucking job right after training
3. go lease (they'll get you a truck immediately for this).
Sounds like another leasing tactic to me. If it weren't for this, I would really consider them, even considering the fact that they only run automatics. Decent pay for a newbie and good hometime...IF you can get into the company truck to begin with. -
Are even still taking students?

Can anyone tell me about there training program and how much miles they are making..And who would you rather drive for FFE or Trans am.thanks
-
I was a chauffeur for them for 3.5 weeks - I don't think they have a training program. you don't get paid in miles, you get paid money. chauffeurs, I mean, uh, trainees get about $300 a week while their chauffeuring their "trainer" around.
-
how long is training how is there training? how many miles are you guys getting...trans am v. ffe who would you start with? thanks
-
After orientation, you will go out with a trainer for 3 weeks. After he drops you back off at the yard, you will be tested on logs, mapreading, company procedures such as seal verifications, osd claims etc.
Miles depend upon whether your a company driver vs L/o and most especially on whether you get a good DM or not.
You'll start out slow, around 2200 or so and as you prove yourself with on time delieveries etc., miles should start picking up. I'm averaging # 3000 at the moment. Last time out tho was around 1500 a week but was in a motel for 6 of those days. This week is the most I've ever had at 3600.
Can't tell you about FFE. Use the search function in the upper right hand corner and type in Transam. All the threads associated with that are up there. I've tried to post both the good and bad about TA.
Hope this helps.sarookie Thanks this. -
