    came across a very interesting YouTube video
    A pediatrician gives a seminar and details how sucrose/fructose is metablozed by the body much the same as ethanol (alcohol) and gives very much the same results

    it's a pretty long video, and while he does get a little technical about bio-chemistry, he tries to keep it simple and moving along. Pretty eye opening, and it has helped me to better understand the dietary recommendations given to me by my doctor. I think it is well worth the watch.

    I didn't watch the video.
    I am responding to the title of the thread.
    Sure, sugar is slowly killing me.

    But,so is transfat,nontransfat, yeast,red meat,white bread, chicken, white flour, pork, eggs, egg products, whole milk, non-fat goats milk,wheat,rice,AND oxygen.......

    From the moment we are born, we are dying.
    EVERYTHING we do, do not do, breathe, eat, suck, inhale, digest will kill us.
    Sunbathe? The rays may cause skin cancer.

    Don't get ENOUGH sun?
    You may suffer from deficient vitamin D.

    Hypertension, obesity and heart disease are several ailments that are mentioned with some frequency on this forum. I know the dietary changes my doctor asked me to make echo the ones the guy in this video tells to families of obese children.

    And as far as everything out there is killing us, yes I know. I didn't want this topic to make me sound like Chicken Little, though. Maybe I should have used a different title.

    I take the sugar thing seriously. I have cut my sugar intake dramaticially over the past few years. My Triglycerides have dropped a large amount, my insulin levels have gotten lower, and my blood work is good.

    I had started to gain some weight, and felt bad before doing this several years ago. I do not regret cutting way back. I haven't completely cut sugar off, as I have been eating birthday cake this week, but I eat very few sugar items a week.

    Everyone should cut back to help save their pancreas.

    I posted a message a while back which echos this videos message. When I learned that fructose is a poison ten years ago, I went cold turket on all fast foods and soft drinks. I am living proof that this information true. this is because I never developed diabetes or heart disease. that is in spite of the fact that I was made a sugar addict by my biological mother who consumed huge amounts of sugar an alcohol while she was carrying.

    The MYTH of Too much Sugar leads to Diabetes.

    OK. My father passed of "Acute Anema" in 1979. The doctor in my fathers last days said EXACTLY this..and I quote "Your father suffers from a case of Acute Anema, which is a FORM of diabetes but NOT catagorized as it, where his white corpusels are eating up his RED corpuels(-10SP) thus cheating him of the desperately needed blood for survival, thusly, in our society I understand you have been told your father must of taken TOO high of sugar digestion his whole life. Please understand, it is a MYTH that sugar causes diabetes and this society has always been mislead because diabetes can(and in your families case) be hereditary. It will skip generations so therefore you and your brother and sisters must get checked each and every year for the lack of INSULIN your body lacks to produce(a AFTER EFFECT of sugar), the bodies refusal to CORRECTLY extract and use the produced insulin from the digestion of sugar, has lead to this determination. So many people that has been diagnosed as HAVING diabetes, in this country, has been taught and tests PROVEN that sugar was the culprut, but they wasnt PROPERLY excersized in the learning that SUGAR is poorly manufactured in the end result to PRODUCE Insulin that the body SO DEARLY needs to function. A bodys inability to extract INSULIN in a proper way is and can be directly related to the POOR manufacturing of NOT only sugar but many other dirivatives(-10SP) it SORELY depends upon....End quote.

    Sounds confusing BUT, he cautioned us NOT to slow down in the consumption of sugar but NOT to dump huge piles of same because "HEREDITARILY" speaking, it would not be good for us. Been in trucking 10yrs...alot of physicals(of course) and have asked them to check for sugar when they do the "pee-pee" test. Negative everytime. Do i injest big amounts....ummmm does a driver drink coffee, pepsi, etc etc on a large basis?....Compile this that we DRIVE and not excersize while driving and ALL that insulin is a dead waste, which with the HIGH intakes just doesnt get used in the "prescribed" way.

    When dad passed, you better beleive we kids researched it to have a long and lasting life(so i can continue to come to this website and bug:biggrin_25523::biggrin_25513:.

    Sugar is either derived from CANE OR BEET plants. Cane ABOVE ground and BEET in the earth(rooty). Cane mostly from the South and Beet from the North(stinkin bluebellies:biggrin_25523:). Supermarkets rather it be juices or canned fruits or etc etc, neglect to mention this in the ingredinets. Its TRUE that BOTH are SUCROSE but ONLY 99.95% and MINUSULE .05%, made up of different minerals and proteins that have a different effect(rather it be used in cookies cakes or SODA(ahem). CANE grown in 4 states and BEET in 12. BOTH, the bodies cells EITHER dont make enough insulin OR its cells DONT respond to the PROPER manufacturing of INSULIN. get the drift?

    Sugar is a basic fuel for the body. Digesting sugar (eating or drinking), in MODERATION is GOOD for the body for a good source of energy TO BURN. You can ONLY burn so much driving because the lack of movement. LACK of energy usage can, and sometimes, be a determental result to your central nervous system. The result is MANY times YAWNING, DIZZINESS, loss of motor skills, lack of oxygen(yawning), headaches, etc etc. Sound familiar? Soda which we ALL consume out there, is HIGH FRUTOSE CORN SYRUP(made from corn), and when its mixed(crushed) converts some of the sugars in liquid form. That combined mixture is HIGH in Frutose and and Glucose. So the RAW sugar we pile into our coffee, rather BEET or CANE, has been refined. So bottom line is IF you TOTALLY knock out sugar, you will do MORE harm THAN good to your body. Our RIGORIOUS lifestyle(jogging, sports, driving and RUSHING to get things done, construction etc etc) puts a GREAT strain on the production of insulin which leads to what I've said up there. Lack OR too much BOTH have adverse effects on us. We must keep refueling ourselves with sugar cause we put HUGE pressure on our bodies to produce insulin and our supply isnt there. The sickness Diabetes has A THOUSAND and one DIFFERENT causes, herediatary being one of them. Cutting out sugar TOTALLY will OF COURSE make ya feel better, thats just common sense, like a monk going "FASTING" for 30 to 90days....all chemicals are depleted and fruits and JUST water is and will make you "feel" better but Im not going that route cause I now know just WHAT our bodies need to motorize.
